Mission 2: Severnaya

Weapns and gadgets Silenced PP7, KF7 Soviet, Klobb, Grenade, Grenade rounds, Grenade launcher, Door key, Safe key, Building plans The next mission begins at Severnaya, where a communications bunker is located. Even though it is a (relatively) short mission, you can get lost easily, ESPECIALLY on Surface 2, where it's exactly the same, but MUCH DARKER. It's best in this level to just shut up - use your PP7, or even better your Sniper Rifle. Don't be fooled in using the Klobb, whatever you might read. It is total and utter junk (no nasty words for the benefit of young readers. Sorry.). It's incredibly loud, slow, and does minimal damage. Being unarmed is better! Walk along the path, turn, and keep following the path. Past a small metal watchtower should be a few guards in the distance -- two near a house, and one to the right walking along a pathway. There should be two houses opposite each other, and the guards near the right house. Use the Sniper's Rifle to zoom in on them (by using C Up). Shoot at the barrels near the house just for fun, and move to shoot the patrolling soldier in the head. Collect their ammo, and continue along the straight path, ignoring the left house for the moment. If you check in the right house, there are some grenade rounds, to use later. Head towards the large satellite dish. (Ignore the observation tower along the way) If you're playing on Agent, just go to the satellite. Otherwise, if you're playing Secret or 00 Agent, turn to the right after a while, and follow a path which will lead to a single house, past another metal watchtower. A beige-uniformed guard will be inside, and he has the key to the house with a key in it, and also the Grenade Launcher! (plus more grenade rounds.) Have some fun blowing the hell out of everyone! Oh, and remember that house I told you to ignore? Well, that key will unlock the door to the house. So go back to that house, go inside and pick up the safe key! (which will complete objective 3). Now follow the long straight path again towards the large satellite dish. When you get up to it, go to the left of it along a path (if you can't see one, adjust your position) until you get to a caged bunker. Entering the bunker, go towards the building on your left and go inside it. Inside is the safe, so duck down (R and C Down) and press B on the safe. Collect the plans and head back out of the bunker and to the satellite dish. Now, when at the satellite dish, find the entrance to it (two big double doors) and go up all the flights of steps. Go through the last door at the end of the hallway, and inside are the satellite dish controls. DO NOT SHOOT THEM! Instead, press B on them and then just LEAVE THEM. (Otherwise an alarm will be set off, you'll fail the mission, and LOADS of baddies will come for a piece of you!) Leave, and go back down the stairs. When you open the bottom door, head left past over the hill, until you find a (fairly) tall, round 'bunker' shaped object, which is the ventelation shaft. Ascend the stairs, and use your KF7 or PP7 to blow off the locks to the metal grating (there are 4). Once that's done, just go through the hole. Consider this mission done. |
